Terms and Conditions
All Cakes made by Twisted Boutique Bakery are subject to the following terms and conditions
All our ingredients are of the highest quality.
All cakes made are gluten free.
I am able to offer dairy free and egg free cakes, however there whilst every care will be taken, cross contamination is a possibility.
Sponge, flavoured and chocolate cakes, are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration.
All fruit cakes used contain nuts, or traces of nuts or nut oil.
The cakes are made in premises in which nuts are used, every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate however cakes may contain traces of nuts or nut oil.
Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and as such cakes with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in, refrigeration may cause colours to run.
Orders are only booked in when a 50% deposit has been recieved.
Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced by Helen Ducker Cake Design Ltd as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.
Each cake is made individually by hand, so although every effort is made to ensure consistency, a small amount of variation may occur from the design requested/picture supplied.
If requested, we will endeavour to adjust the design where possible, but sometimes this is not possible according to the nature of the request or amount of notice given. If the alteration affects the cost, or preparation work for the original design has already been undertaken, then your balance will be adjusted accordingly. Please warn us when you pay your deposit if you are undecided on the design.
Home Baked Fruit Cakes
We understand the sentimental significance of having a family member bake your fruitcake,, however due to cross-contamination risks and for insurance purposes we are unable to accept such cakes to decorate.
If your cake requires fresh flowers, then these are not included in the price. We can work with your florist but expect you to make all the necessary arrangements with the florists. Please note Helen Ducker Cake Design Ltd are not responsible for any problems with your fresh flowers.
Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client's responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. support dowels, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, Swarovski crystals, flower picks and flower tape etc.
Some flowers (e.g. Ivy) are poisonous and not suitable for use on food products, you should notify your flower supplier of your intention to use the flowers on food to endure that non-poisonous flowers are used.
We require a 50% deposit to confirm placement of order for all cakes, which is deducted from the final balance payable. Deposits are non refundable.
Final payment of your wedding cake is required no later than 14 days before the collection/delivery. It is your responsibility to remember to send this payment, as a reminder invoice may not always be issued
Final payment for your celebration cake can be made on the day of collection (same day bank transfer, card or cash). Cheques cannot be used as payment method for the final payment. If full payment is not received and cleared in our account before cake collection/delivery then the order will not be released.
All Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If cancellation of an order takes place we reserve the right to retain your non refundable 50% deposit. If cancellation takes place less than 7 days before the event then we reserve the right to seek 100% of the order value.
Cancellation must be made in writing (by letter or email) to Helen Ducker Cake Design Ltd and will only be deemed to take effect from the date your letter/email is received at our premises.
If you postpone the event we will endeavour to transfer your order providing the date is suitable for ourselves, otherwise it shall be treated as a cancellation (see above).
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances beyond our control, such as fire or ill health, during which we will refund any money taken in full.
Any refund given for disputes regarding a cake design or production of a design are completely at the discretion of Twisted Boutique Bakery and are not automatic. Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied.
All cakes delivered to venues are photographed from different angles to show cake quality on delivery. We do not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to the cake or items with the cake such as knives, decorations and stands, once the cake has been delivered to a venue or collected , or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable or exceptional circumstances. This in no way affects your statutory rights.
Cakes are to be collected from our premises at a prearranged time and date only. When collecting from Totally Cakes and you have left the premises Twisted Boutique Bakery are no longer responsible for the cake.
Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage and time basis. If you choose delivery, it is our intention that your cake will be delivered in perfect condition prior to the start of your event. However we ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (e.g. traffic conditions) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays. In some circumstances, we may recommend the cake be delivered 1 day in advance. It is your responsibility to ensure you inform us of your correct ceremony and event time plus the postcode of the venue. Cakes will be delivered and set up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible.
We cannot be held liable for any damage that is rendered to the cake at the venue once we have left the premises. It is with this in mind that we require somebody responsible to check and sign off on the cake before we leave.
If you chose to collect the cake, we will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises. Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport; in relation to wedding cakes we highly recommend you check your wedding insurance covers cake damage. To ensure your cake is as fresh as possible, we recommend it be collected the day before the wedding.
Late requests for delivery (after securing the booking based on collection) will be accommodated where possible, but cannot be guaranteed, as earlier delivery commitments must take priority.
It is the clients responsibility to ensure arrangements are made for the cake table, linen, cake stand & knife, which should all be set- up prior to our arrival. If any delay is incurred due to these not being set-up, we reserve the right to charge for any delay incurred (labour / time costs at £20 per hour). Alternatively please arrange for the cake to be left with the event manager to assemble / move into position as appropriate. Please take extra care to ensure a stable cake table is available if you are having a marquee wedding, as surrounding floorboards can easily rock the cake once stood on.
From time to time our designs are published in national wedding cake magazines and other publications, we reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by Twisted Boutique Bakery for publication at a later date.
Return of Hired Equipment
Deposits are taken for all equipment. All equipment must be returned within 3 days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to wedding in writing) or extra charges may be levied to cover hire costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of deposit returned in order to cover costs of repair or replacement.
